Introducing . . . Juniper!

Hi, this is Spirit and I'd like to introduce to you my younger sister, Juniper - more commonly known as Juno! A Great Pyrenees mix, Juno was rescued as a puppy from Texas in 2020 - the year of the pandemic! Even though Juno and I are very dissimilar in many ways, I have learned to appreciate our differences.

For instance, Juno is not a big swimmer like me, but she does enjoy getting her feet wet on a hot summer's day. But she is much more agile than I am, as she can navigate through large rocks with ease. Once, I saw her jump to the top of a six-foot boulder in a single leap! She also has excellent balance and can walk on fallen tree trunks like an Olympic gymnast, whereas I am a bit on the clumsy side. And Juno is always on the lookout for an interloper, holding the position of sentinel to ensure the safety of our pack. Me? I prefer to just chill and relax!

Juno has taught me the value of diversity - even among the same species - as she makes a substantial contribution to our little family. As a Kindred Spirit of Peace, I am happy to say that I have had some influence on Juno, as well. Specifically, I have taught Juno many lessons on tolerance. Because of me, she now lives peacefully with our feline brothers, Miso and Philippe. She is still working on a harmonious co-existence with the Apple Herd of deer in our backyard, however. But she has come a long way!

You see, diversity is vital to our natural world, as everything is inter-connected - from the trees that produce oxygen to the bees who help pollinate our abundant plant life. Please take a moment to share with me other examples of how everything in nature has a purpose. And in so doing, you can become a Kindred Spirit of Peace . . . like me!
