An alternative and complementary treatment modality that originated in Japan, "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "rei" (universal) and "ki" (life energy). John Skiendziel, Reiki Master Teacher, channels this "universal life energy" to the patient for emotional and physical healing.

John, who performs Reiki on people, dogs, cats, and injured wildlife, has had an affinity for the healing arts since early in life. He was a volunteer EMT for more than 25 years while working full time in the IT industry.

Retired from his “day job” in 2021, John now dedicates his time to energy healing, organic gardening, and hiking with his wife, Annette, and two dogs, Spirit and Juno. He also volunteers at a non-profit wildlife rehabilitation center, a wolf-dog hybrid educational facility, and a hospice organization.

John Skiendziel received his Reiki Master Teacher certification from the International Center for Reiki Training via Insight Holistic. His Reiki Master lineage can be traced

to Mikao Usui from Japan, who is credited with rediscovering the Reiki root system in 1922.
