Universal life energy healing for the mind, body, & spirit
_edited.jpg)
With a Golden Karma Reiki session, you will experience a peaceful, relaxing immersion into the divine universal life energy. Prior to the session, John Skiendziel, Reiki Master Teacher, will prepare the room, setting up any equipment and cleansing the room of negative energies. When you arrive, you'll be asked to settle the fee and review with John the client information forms that you will be asked to complete ahead of time. The forms will help identify specific areas on which to focus (e.g., knee pain, headaches, gastrointestinal issues, stress, anxiety/depression, etc.).
Reiki Sessions for People

Before the process begins, John will explain what Reiki is and what to expect, as well as answer any questions. He will confirm if light, non-invasive touch may be used to transfer healing energy.* Unlike massage therapy, a Reiki session does not involve manipulation of tissue. Direct contact will be limited to your head, shoulders, arms, and legs (below the knee). Hand placement will never be intrusive or inappropriate, and there never will be a need to remove any item of clothing. If you are not comfortable with being touched, hovering over the location of focus works just fine.
The session can take place:
-
In Golden Karma Reiki's room (Note: This second-floor room is accessed via a staircase and unfortunately, is not handicapped accessible.)
-
At your location - It is recommended the area be clean, quiet, free from distractions, and spacious enough to hold a treatment table. (Note: Travel distance will be discussed at time of booking.)
-
Virtually via phone or Zoom - It is recommended you choose a location that is clean, quiet, and free from distractions and contains a comfortable place where you can lie down.

John will prepare himself by placing his palms together at the heart (a practice known as Gassho), followed by palms together at the third eye (Reiji-ho). He will then scan your aura from head to toe (Byosen scan) to detect positive and negative energies, which will guide how the session will flow.

Next, you will be asked to lie on a comfortable treatment table, breathe deeply, relax, and open yourself to receiving the energy (Chiryo).*
During the session, background music will be played, and singing bowls, tuning forks, and essential oils may be used. While healing energy is being transferred, you may experience:

-
heat or coolness from John's hands
-
subtle pulsations or cascading waves of pulsations throughout the body
-
a deep meditative state
-
color visualizations
-
vivid images
-
a release of stress/feelings of relaxation
-
a relief of pain or discomfort

A few minutes after the Reiki session has been completed, John will rouse you, ask how you feel, and assist you into a sitting/standing position (if necessary). Drinking plenty of water is recommended to ensure proper hydration and to help your body expel any toxins that are being shed as a result of the session. You may feel refreshed and relaxed, with a sense of mental clarity. Some people notice feeling a bit tired in the evening, which is thought to be the body's natural healing response. You should listen to your body, engage in calming activities, and get a good night's rest.
*If the session is being performed via phone or Zoom, John will transfer healing energy to you remotely. You will be asked to lie on a comfortable surface in a clean, quiet room within your own home, free from distractions.
Reiki Sessions for
Companion Animals
The process for delivering Reiki to your canine or feline companion - or any other domestic animal - is similar to that followed for people. Depending on the comfort level of your animal, the practitioner may or may not use direct touch, as it is possible to send the Reiki across the room or outside a cage (if the animal is confined).
The session can take place:
-
At your location - It is recommended that the area be where the animal is most comfortable - clean, quiet, and free from distractions. If you choose a third-party location (e.g., veterinarian's office), it is up to you to arrange the proper permission and access. (Note: Travel distance will be discussed at time of booking.)

Each animal reacts differently to Reiki. Some fully accept it and come toward the practitioner, whereas others remain by their owners. Some may reject the Reiki entirely and try to run from the room. During the session, your companion may appear asleep or even fall asleep. After the session has been completed, you may notice lessened anxiety and/or pain, as well as a generalized calm, relaxed demeanor. Your companion may be tired, and you should allow him/her to rest and heal, providing plenty of fresh water for hydration and cleansing.
Reiki Sessions for
Other Animals

At Golden Karma Reiki, we offer remote and in person Reiki to injured, sick, or emotionally challenged animals living on farms or in shelters, sanctuaries, and rehabilitation facilities. The process is similar to that followed for companion animals. We also provide Reiki to wildlife (animals actually living in the wild), such as foxes, deer, coyotes, bears, squirrels, birds, and various species of marine life.
Depending on the comfort level of the animal, as well as the feasibility of the situation, John may or may not use direct touch. If the animal is not comfortable around humans (as may be the case with wildlife in a rehab facility), distance Reiki can be delivered remotely or somewhere in the vicinity of where the animal is housed.

If the animal lives in the wild, Reiki can be delivered remotely or near where the animal is frequently seen (e.g., on your property or in a nearby park).
As with dogs and cats, the animal may appear asleep or even fall asleep. After the session has been completed, you may notice lessened anxiety and/or pain, as well as a generalized calm, relaxed demeanor. The animal may be tired, and you should allow him/her to rest and heal, providing plenty of fresh water for hydration and cleansing, if possible.
